The Elanco Procurement Associate in Winslow, Maine provides Supply Chain services for Winslow Operations. The Procurement Supply Chain Associate reporting to the Supply Chain Manager is primarily responsible for vendor management, Material Requirements Planning and Purchasing processes. This role continually improves the company procurement activities in order to achieve the greatest value for materials and services purchased. In addition, this role will work closely with operations and supporting scheduling. This role interfaces with both internal and external teams to achieve key material site objectives

Functions, Duties, Tasks:
  • Determine alternate qualified suppliers and lead negotiations of pricing, lead times, supplier exceptions, contractual agreements and order quantities.
  • Proactive management of supplier delivery performance and maintenance of valid due dates for open purchase orders and inspection lots.
  • Timely and accurate processing of Anticipated Delay Reports and expedites.
  • Facilitation of material requirements definition and delivery in support of the production schedule.
  • Coordinates, conducts an participates in meetings and discussions between suppliers and site personnel concerning subjects such as value analysis, engineering alternatives, new methods, techniques or processes
  • Execution of MRP Action and Exception Messages in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Forecasting and managing material expirations to mitigate production schedule disruptions.
  • Management and ownership of inventory and purchasing planning system parameters such as reorder points, safety stocks, lead times and lot sizes.
  • Ensuring sufficient availability of approved materials in support of the production schedule requirements.
  • On-time release of purchase orders.
  • On-time release of process orders, manufacturing or label/pack.
  • Publication and maintenance of accurate dispatch lists.
  • Dialogue with Resource Owners regarding operation status.
  • Perform additional required tasks as needed to site objectives

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Finance
  • Knowledge of supply chain tools and business processes (Minimum of 2 years supply chain experience)
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
  • Experience with purchasing and scheduling
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Minimum of two years of experience in procurement preferred
  • MBA or Procurement certifications
  • Animal Health/Pharmaceutical industry experience and familiarity with USDA and other regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a data driven approach to problem solving
  • Customer oriented
  • APICS, Six Sigma or equivalent operational certification
