The successful candidate will join a team of highly trained, multi-skilled craftsman that perform tasks in a wide range of mechanical disciplines. We are a highly regulated company that has success by doing the job correctly the first time. The facility rests on 320 acres and over 25 building that contain a wide range of mechanical equipment. The primary areas of responsibility for this position may include to provide troubleshooting, repair and periodic preventative maintenance of steam systems, water systems, air systems, HVAC related equipment, minor electrical, boilers, bioreactors, fermenters, capping machines, filling or packaging lines, freezers, coolers, chillers, cooling towers and associated facilities support equipment.

  • The ability to perform detailed documentation of repair and preventive maintenance activities into a document detailing the problem, cause and remedy.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment.
  • Furnish a complete set of hand tools.
  • Perform basic shop math and practical shop calculations with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Provide basic measurements and measuring tools in either metric and/or US standard systems.
  • Implement metal work, sawing, welding, and grinding.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic AC/DC electricity and electronics, including 3-phase electrical systems to perform basic tasks involving electricity and electronics.
  • Independently perform methods of measuring current, voltage, resistance, simple OHMS law calculations, and reading both electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Proceed independently without direct supervision.
  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain the cleanliness of work areas
  • Use a computer to keep accurate and complete records, meeting cGMP documentation practices.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of mechanical systems to allow effective and efficient troubleshooting.
  • Follow department standard operating procedures
  • Perform jobs of the lower grades as required.
  • Follow OSHA standards and lockout tag out procedures.
  • Follow Procedures for the handling of hazardous wastes
  • Ability to pass aseptic gowning

  • High School Diploma | GED
  • Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing, if applicable.

  • Mechanical Aptitude
    • Demonstrated understanding of systems, equipment, and processes
    • Demonstrated ability to set-up and troubleshoot equipment as required
  • Computer Skills
    • Experience with Windows Operating System.
    • Complete electronic based Work Orders

    • Effective and efficient multitasking skills.

  • Physical requirements
    • Ability to perform activities including walking, bending, lifting, confined space entry, etc
    • The ability to work in adverse outdoor conditions.
  • Comprehension and application
    • Proficient reading, comprehension and application skills toward a diverse set of complicated tasks.
    • Be able to read and follow detailed verbal or written instruction.
  • Two (2) year degree in Maintenance related field, or related equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in the refrigeration field.
  • Universal refrigeration license.
  • Experience in High Pressure boilers and steam related equipment.
  • HVAC maintenance.
