About the Position:

You are responsible for leading the development of strategies to gain, improve and defend access for Lilly’s promoted and pipeline products. The Patient Access Manager will be responsible for leading the creation of end-to-end price and reimbursement strategies, including the business cases in support of these strategies; public and private value propositions; comprehensive value dossiers to Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies including public and private drug plans; and execution of payer contracting strategies to optimize access. 

PRA (Pricing, Reimbursement & Access) Strategy:

Lead the development of the end-to-end market access strategy to optimize price and reimbursement for Lilly’s pipeline and promoted assets utilizing cross functional team expertise, deep understanding of HTA and public and private payer needs as well as the needs of the business;

Own and advocate for the Canadian PRA strategy ensuring alignment and support across functions, and with leadership locally and globally;
Partner with field-based access team and cross functional members to execute access strategies and tactics.
Business Case Development:
Lead the development of launch price and net price business cases, with support of cross-functional partners (pricing, forecasting, brand, field team leader), including their approval at the local and global level;
Develop clear and concise narrative around the PRA strategy and financial assessment.

Value propositions:

Own the development of the value proposition that forms the basis of the PRA strategy leveraging input from a dynamic team of cross functional partners (Global PRA, Health Outcomes, Medical, Marketing, field  Patient Access Team). 
Lead the company into the future by providing critical insights into the globally driven New Product Planning initiatives to shape the pipeline.
Comprehensive value dossiers (submissions):
Own the development and execution of best-in-class value dossiers to national and/or regional HTA bodies and payers (public and private) as well as the PMPRB;
Lead the planning and development of sound clinical and economic arguments;

Shape the outcome of therapeutic class reviews affecting Lilly products conducted by  HTA agencies  or provincial drug plans (e.g., formulary modernization, class reviews).

Pricing and Contracting:

Lead development of innovative value-based pricing schemes including pCPA negotiation and product listing agreement strategies in partnership with a core cross functional team;

Champion business cases supporting product listing structures/offerings and prices through affiliate and global approval processes;
Lead the internal launch price approval process, develop and deliver pricing submissions to the PMPRB in partnership with Pricing team;
Provide the answers needed by payer customers requiring supplemental pricing dossiers, budget impact analyses/ forecasts and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) bids in order to maintain or gain access for Lilly medicines;

Brand Business Plan/Business Partner Interface and Support:

Be the champion for PRA input into key strategic/business planning processes in the affiliate and other relevant cross functional team initiatives; 
Be the PRA expert for the sales and marketing teams where appropriate on reimbursement issues and requests.

About you:

You have:
A university degree in the health sciences, business or related field of study.  Preference will be given to candidates with additional training (i.e., Masters or Ph.D. level education in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Public Health/Health Policy and/or MBA);
Experience in pharmaceutical industry or related experience required;
Experience in market access for oncology and/or immunology drugs is strongly preferred.

Action-oriented and you’ve demonstrated this by managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment with changing and/or competing priorities;
Flexible and have high learning agility that allows you to quickly adapt to new priorities and business opportunities.
Analytical and business savvy, able to analyze, critically appraise and/or interpret complex data from multiple sources (i.e., clinical, health economic, financial other) to create successful market access strategies and develop business cases;
Strategic thinker, able to integrate in depth understanding of customer needs, to develop innovative and meaningful business solutions;
Persistent and committed in your efforts to obtain, expand and/or protect product listings;
An excellent communicator (verbal and written) across all levels of management.
