This job involves a depth of understanding of all Lilly sales and marketing databases as well as collection of the available 3rd party data sources needed for core analytic processes. This position will be responsible for analytic data collection, processing, integration and maintenance and will support data needs of China internal analytics team, LCCI ( Lilly Capability Center India) and analytic vendors. It will also liaison with internal functions (China Commercial Analytics, IT, BU teams, market research, MOE and Medical) and suppliers to ensure consistency in data definitions and data utilization for core analytic processes across the China affiliate. So the responsibility of this position includes Technical Solution Design and Data Architecture Design, Project Management, Data ETL Development and Data Maintenance, Data Analysis and Quality Assist.
Initial Phase (0-12 months)
  1. Technical Solution Design and Data Architecture Design
  • Partners with China Commercial Analytics, Global IT, BU teams, market research, MOE, and external data vendors to ensure high data quality and correct data understanding, as well as provides appropriate data access to China Commercial Analytics team, Lilly Capability Center India, and/or analytic vendors
  • Coordinates with other BAs to review data mapping from data architecture perspective
  1. Project Management
  • Identifies decisions needed and callout dependencies
  • Manages schedule of stakeholders, timely delivery of documents & deliverables
  • Provides status reports and highlights risks/ issues
  • Participates in regular (e.g. weekly) meetings with project managers and/or analytics teams
  • Escalates issues to senior management and fixes bugs
  • Coordinates with on-site, domestic, offshore project partners and business team
  • Participates in assessing end users' training needs and contributes to the development of the OCM plan
  • Ensures appropriate business roles are engaged in solution execution
  • Possesses general awareness and knowledge of regulatory, legal, or quality requirements (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley, privacy regulations, GxP) impacting the business area, and ensures solution requirements include appropriate points
  • Ensures user acceptance criteria are defined for system deployment
  • Ensures that incident, problem, configuration, and change/release management are all done with alignment and understanding of business need
  • Negotiates clear service levels for IT services based on business requirements
  1. Data ETL Development and Data Steward/Maintenance
  • Extracts data(weekly/monthly/ad-hoc) from various master/transaction data source systems and suppliers, after aligning requirements from analytics team members in China/India/US
  • Designs and Develops ETL programs and ETL Jobs
  • Processes extraction and maintenance of analytic data
  • Supports user acceptance testing and system integration testing
  1. Data Analyst
  • Understands the goals, objectives and business strategy of the assigned business area
  • Understands the business problems and needs effectively
  • Understands business requirements and effectively works with related IT teams (Business Engagement, Service Management, etc.) to translate business needs and process into technical terms, and vice versa
  • Defines and applies standard business rules for consistent use of analytic data
  • Provides business process subject-matter expertise to technical resources
  1. Quality Analyst
  • Understands Lilly System Engineering Framework (LSEF), CSV policies and procedures, SOPs and business processes for assigned customer area
  • Creates and maintains data project related documentation (including data cross-border transfer)
  • Participates in activities to estimate time for review of validation deliverables
  • Monitors project timetable and progress for quality tasks, manages project issues related to quality/validation
  • Participates in continuous improvement for documentation and validation processes
  • Coaches system custodians, system owners, project team members, and other resources by participating in up-front planning activities, risk assessment activities, providing feedback on validation decisions and deliverables
  • Ensures and reinforces the Computer Systems Quality (CSQ) policies and procedures
  • Ensures change requests are executed in compliance with local change control procedures
  • Assists Admin Services & IT Compliance Team with internal audit and external inspection preparation
Mature Phase (After 12 months)
Additional responsibility on data processing including cleansing, manipulation, exploration, etc. (Reporting line may change to Commercial Analytics Team depending on business needs)

Undergraduate degree in a quantitative analysis discipline, e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science

Business level English
Demonstrate in-depth understanding and application of core analytic processes and data supporting them

Technical Skills
4+ years’ experience in SQL, Informatica ETL tool, and SAP BO development
Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Behavioral Skills
Strong work ethics and personal motivation
Strong team player who is dynamic and result oriented
Ability to leverage past experience to quickly become proficient at handling Lilly datasets

ADD:
  • Data integration from multiple sources experience
  • Experience with execution and implementation of core analytic processes
  • Experience in one or several analysis tools such as SAS, R, Python
  • Preferable experience with visualization software (Tableau)
  • Experience with management of large databases
