Position Overview:

The Research Advisor is a key scientific leadership role who serves as an expert resource for clinical trials, protocol review, and external projects and runs clinical program execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on the conduct and monitoring of Avid clinical trials, serving as a resource and leader for clinical operations staff and advising on investigator/site selection and management
  • Lead clinical program implementation
  • Review Clinical and Imaging Standard Operating Procedures
  • Participate in the Protocol Review Committee (PRC): contributing to design, drafting and review of the final version of the protocols
  • Represent Avid as scientific liaison to external partners, scientists, consortia
  • Assist and advise business development, clinical, and imaging teams on conducting external projects and identifying opportunities with potential partners serving as a scientific expert on the use of Avid’s compound for partner projects
  • Provide scientific contributions to:
    • Clinical Study Reports
    • Statistical Analysis Plans
    • Data Management Plans
    • Publications/presentations
    • FDA background documents
  • Contribute to scientific and regulatory strategy; compound selection and clinical development plans, commercial planning as needed
  • Represent Avid as needed in public forums
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate degree (e.g., Pharm D, M.S., M.B.A. or Ph.D.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical research

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication, listening, writing, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated learning agility, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
  • Effective delegation and leadership skills

Additional Information:

  • 5-15% domestic and international travel
  • For internal employees, if you are currently in a technical path role, but outside of the posting band, you may apply. You will be hired at your current level. For example: Current P4 (tech ladder), Posting R1-2 tech ladder, hire will occur at P4
  • Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $124,000 to $249,500 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
