Position Summary

The Associate Scientist will have the primary responsibility to support the development and validation LC/MS bioanalytical assays to assist our efforts to identify and advance the development of novel targets for neurodegenerative disorders. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self- motivated, hands-on, scientist with excellent interpersonal skills who is comfortable working in an open environment spanning multiple functions. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of LC/MS analysis including design, biochemistry, sample preparation, data acquisition and analysis.
  • Contribute to development, and validation of bioanalytical assays to support biomarker identification and discovery efforts for lipidomic and proteomic analysis.
  • Help in organization of samples, animal tissues and instrument maintenance.

Requirements 

  • Bachelors with 1-5 years OR master’s with 0-3 years of work experience in academia/industry

Additional Preferences

  • Experience with low-resolution (triple quad) or high-resolution mass spec instruments (Orbitrap, ion mobility) for lipidomic or proteomic applications.
  • Experience with other bioanalytical platforms of ELISA, automated westerns and flow cytometry is a plus but not necessary.
  • Team player, with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative scientific environment.
