State Tax Analyst

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Complete tax returns in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide quarterly forecasts for planning, estimated tax payments, and external reporting purposes
  • Anticipate, defend, and resolve state audit matters as necessary
  • Use technical expertise to successfully complete quarterly tax accounting and related activities
  • Track, research, and advise on current and changing tax laws and regulations
  • Seek and develop ways to improve processes, including technology improvements

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree
  • Minimum of 2 years tax and accounting experience, particularly state tax experience, in a large public accounting firm and / or large corporate tax environment
  • CPA eligible

Additional Preferences:

  • 3-5 years state tax experience
  • Federal tax experience
  • Understanding of ASC 740/FAS 109
  • Experience with tax compliance systems such as OneSource Income Tax
  • CPA Certification
  • Prior SAP experience
  • Strong business partner skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel / Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated
