Purpose:

In this role, you will serve as the Senior Director of ServiceNow with accountability to drive ServiceNow to be Lilly’s workflow orchestrator.  You will partner with IDS and business leadership to deliver strong operational excellence and transformational programs to push the organization towards the future (e.g. automation and cloud).  Key areas of responsibility include: active oversight of ServiceNow as Platform Owner, administrative oversight for global team/people development/retention, alignment of strategic business direction to ServiceNow Platform plan and vendor management.  You will be a member on the Enterprise Platforms Lead Team and play a leadership role in driving results for the centralized use of the ServiceNow Platform to achieve business results across the organization. 

Responsibilities:

  • Transform: Create and deliver a transformational strategy and roadmap to enable the organization to drive and respond to the exponentially changing technology landscape (e.g. automation and integration).
  • Partner: Build effective partnerships (e.g., HR, Information Security, Enterprise Data Management, and Enterprise Development Application & Tools) and champion continual collaboration across IDS to learn and anticipate business trends. Collaborate and investigate to understand business needs and use-cases for enterprise data and tools.
  • Influence strategy: Partner with stakeholders on strategic recommendations to bring in new technologies, maximize the value of current assets, and move away from others. Influence program priorities based on business need and value gain for Lilly business outcomes.
  • Lead implementations: Drive key program initiatives and technology roadmaps. Lead compliant/secure tech implementation. Influence/direct automation toolset implementations to be aligned with strategic roadmap and standards.
  • Managing portfolio and contracts: Drive portfolio and vendors contracts as key strategy assets to enable Lilly to drive innovation and modernize technical debt.
  • Drive and enable adoption: Maximize value derived from toolset by increasing knowledge across IDS of capabilities and how to maximize the services and technologies. Expose and overcome barriers.

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in an IT subject area (computer science, information systems, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years working with technology
  • Experience leading global/diverse teams
  • Deep knowledge of financial and procurement processes
  • Deep vendor management experience.

Additional Skills / Preferences

  • Master’s degree in IT subject area (computer science, information systems, etc.).
  • ServiceNow certifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership, influence, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong partnership skills and influence with business partners inside business unit context.
  • Demonstrated influence and communication skills across all levels of IT.
  • Demonstrated strength in facilitation skills.
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, technical aptitude and innovation interest.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas and thoughts in manners that resulted in definitive directions and results.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proactive, demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and strong ability to drive peers and above to timely decisions.
