Responsibilities:

MQ IDS supports operational excellence and productivity efforts through utilization of information and technology. This includes maximizing and exploiting existing systems at all levels, benchmarking and replicating as much as possible and using data to drive process improvements and productivity. To achieve an e-Manufacturing vision, we must partner with the business on the following:

  • Drive towards a paperless operation by capturing all data electronically

  • Enable seamless operations by performing transactions on any devices, at any time, from any location

  • Enable a curious mindset for our business partners to experience their data via trends and dashboards

  • Ensure practice matches procedures by flawless & simplified execution

This dedicated MQ IDS position will be part of the Global API MES Team. The Global API MES team is purposed to support API Manufacturing sites deliver Manufacturing Execution System through common Syncade (Software by Emerson) modules as one of the enablers to Digital transformation & World class performance objectives.  This position will focus on the following key elements:

  • Release Management

This position reports to an IDS Manager.

Standardization and Collaboration:

  • Drive global initiatives that promote replication, standardization, and process simplification.

  • Proactively engage with sites API MES teams and business partners.

  • Partner with global MQIDS leaders to influence and leverage API MES common solution.

  • Partner with IT peers across manufacturing and IDS global services to identify solutions to help meet API business needs.

  • Benchmark further development of MES and evaluate possibilities to the Lilly program.

  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies, latest technology standards and implications to System solution.

  • Promote standardize solutions that provides fulfillment of business requirements & ensure sustainability

  • Promote use of Global components management driving standardization across sites.

Business Integration:

  • Understand business requirements, identifies, and analyzes multiple solution alternatives and proposes alternative based on comparative benefit.

  • Enables & promotes common processes across the sites via shared global components such as RA Behaviors and Work Instructions.

  • Assists in providing the proper direction over the creation and maintenance of the globally owned RA Behaviors, Work instructions and interfaces providing consultancy to the site owned ones.

  • Analyses new requirements and propose changes to an existing service as applicable, always pursuing maintaining standardization among API sites.  

  • Support all API Sites.

  • Collects relevant information required to resolve or escalate incidents raised by business partners or system users.

  • Escalation point for Tier 2/3 support.

  • Escalates appropriately to the vendor when IT service levels will not be met.

  • Ability to thrive in a complex, changing, virtual environment with multiple manufacturing sites.

  • Through curiosity & innovation leverage core System functionalities to drive standardization & business value.

Security & Compliance:

  • Assists in ensuring Syncade and its interfaces respect all aspects of Compliance & Cybersecurity requirements & S95 architecture as defined at Lilly

  • Be a consultant & promote design of processes that ensure compliance with new requirements. 

  • Possess awareness and knowledge of regulatory, legal or quality requirements impacting the business areas, and ensures solution requirements comply

Current & Next Generation Technology:

  • Proactively influence the business to drive value & sustainability by implementing the appropriate technical solutions.

  • Anticipates the implications of technical decisions on project timelines and regulatory compliance requirements and advises project teams and solution owners accordingly.

  • Provides solution & business process subject-matter expertise to technical resources.

  • Influence Emerson to address needs in standard solution or via functional packs

  • Help evaluate and translate functional requirements into technical solutions

  • Ensure solution requirements meet all regulatory commitments.

  • Explore externally further MES Next generation & technology trends.

Release Management:

  • Help coordinate with business partners software releases and global impact assessments.

  • Manage communication within the scope of software releases and serves as the bridge between the Installation and the sites MES teams

  • Develop proposals that contribute in helping sites established an achievable plan to maintain application system & platforms up to date as agreed

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant manufacturing IT experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Demonstrated learning agility both technically as well as business processes and applications

  • Demonstrated initiative to build relationships, learn new business processes and identify opportunities

  • Demonstrated ability to influence peers and business partners

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and either resolve or escalate to the appropriate level for resolution

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, facilitate, and drive towards risk-based decision making

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong communication skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • External focus

  • Basic knowledge of S95 Architecture Model

  • Some knowledge and depth across M&Q business areas and Manufacturing IT application portfolio

  • API site experience

  • Strong technical skill in Syncade (or like application) architecture and troubleshooting

Additional Information:

  • Some travel will be required to Manufacturing sites (US, Puerto Rico and/or Europe)

  • Regular 8 hr day shift M-F, including off hours support/consultation as needed

  • This position is not permanent.  It is for a fixed term position up to a maximum of 4 years.
