Position Brand Description:

The MQ IDS MES Leader Consultant is responsible for organizing the development, delivery and deployment of activities associated with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for API Manufacturing sites. The person will be responsible to define the requirements needed for the MES implementation. The responsibilities include leading the implementation, managing staffing, define funding requirements, communications, etc.

The MQ IDS Leader Consultant functions as an integrator between business and technology to ensure MES solutions meet business needs. Responsibilities include technical leadership of the IT MES team, performing business analysis to define strategy and requirements, overseeing the design, prototyping and deploying of MES solutions.  The IDS MES Leader Consultant will help drive site adoption the MES system, progressing the site paperless manufacturing objective. The consultant will jointly define and own the site MES strategy, mission and vision, in partnership with the Business MES Consultant, and represent the site needs in the definition of requirements for future global MES solutions.

Responsibilities:

The role also involves building a network of colleagues both internally and externally to determine best practices and stay current with technology and presenting to peers, site management and offsite groups. In carrying out his/her responsibilities, the role is expected to work very closely with a wide spectrum of disciplines/people.

Business Analyst Focus

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business processes.  Apply knowledge to MES solutions to support the business processes. Work with Process Engineers, Operations, Quality, and TS/MS to identify, analyse and implement solutions that improve efficiency and reduce error and further the paperless agenda for the site.
  • Coach and mentor other team members on best practices and solutions.
  • Oversee the execution of assigned IT/MES projects.
  • Provide advice and influence during requirements gathering to ensure decisions lead to a solution that supports business needs.
  • Actively network with other MQ IT resources to stay aware of initiatives going on around the company, inform others of our own initiatives, share reusable solutions, and champion reuse of solutions and best practices across sites.

Technical Integrator Focus

  • Co-develop and drive an overall MES strategy and agenda aligned with internal and external trends in partnership with the Business MES Consultant.
  • Critically evaluate user requests and use technical and process knowledge to determine underlying true business needs.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  • Provide expertise and leadership in the development and integration of IT/MES solutions that support systems and business processes.

Project Management Focus

  • Champion the Agile Project management process and oversee the Scrum Master and the development/update of project plans including the determination of project activities and milestones.
  • Manage execution of projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope
  • Provide ongoing communication on projects, issues, and major deliverables to management and staff
  • Simultaneous management/oversight of multiple projects across job function.

Resource Management

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Major in Computerized Information System, Computer Science or Programming; or BS Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical) or related field
    • Proficient in English
    • Ten (10) years of experience in IDS and/or Automation/control systems related fields.
    • Seven (7) years of experience in manufacturing, preferred in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
    • Seven (7) years of MES expereience

      Additional Skills/Preferences:

      • Computer Systems Validation in cGMP regulated operations experience
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Knowledge of plant operations required to ensure MES Solutions meet business requirements.
      • Ability to network both within site and at a global level.
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to lead others through processes.
      • People leadership skills to guide IT and business reps on problem resolution and MES Solution design.
      • Strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Quality Operations.
      • Strong knowledge of MES systems.
