Position Brand Description:

The Global Lab Information and Data Solutions (IDS) team delivers and maintains applications that support the Global Lab organization at Lilly. This team is part of the broader Manufacturing and Quality (M&Q) IDS organization that continues to transform as we look to the digital plant of the future and support manufacturing operational excellence and productivity efforts maximizing the use of technology and analytics.

The Global Lab IDS team works in partnership with the Global Lab business central and site representatives to define business needs and provide solutions for Lab.  This team is responsible for the support and solution delivery of IT tools that support the Global Lab business application portfolio, such as LIMS, LES, ELN, CDS, and Lab intelligence solution.

A key role in the Global Lab organization is the Business Process Architect position who is responsible to define a strategic direction that will help the business area shape their future leveraging technology to make their process more efficient and compliance.

What you will do

  • You will have deep understanding of the Manufacturing & Quality (M&Q) Laboratories business processes, the IDS tools they use and how these tools interact to support their operations.
  • You will work with the Lab Informatics team and the IDS team to define how to best leverage the NextGen LIMS/LES system to support the Quality Control Laboratories (QCL) operations.
  • You will work with key Business Partners and IDS Dedicated Team to identify business problems and propose solutions.
  • You will need to understand the business area well enough to anticipate short term and future needs.
  • You will transform business needs into functional requirements.
  • You will translate business needs into technical terms and vice versa.
  • You will work with a dedicated team to enable business effectiveness by identifying opportunities for leveraging technology, process, or information.
  • You will be defining the global design of NextGen LIMS/LES.
  • You will work with the system vendor to communicate business process and assists in translating into implementation specifications.
  • You will Provide partner with the IDS and GQL team for the implementation and roll out of NexGen Lab applications.
  • You will participate in the delivery of validation documents for the NextGen application and ensure they are in alignment with Lilly Quality Standards and Lilly Quality Practices.
  • You will contribute to the development of the OCM plan.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Technical Science or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing or QC Lab IT experience

Additional Preferences

  • Knowledge of QC Lab operations or Manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated learning agility both technically as well as business processes and applications.
  • Be familiar S95 Level 3 solutions, commercial configurable software (COTS) suppliers, and business intelligence
  • Ability to influence others to adopt different point of view or concept
  • Demonstrated ability to establish key relationships with those outside of the immediate business area.
  • Deep understanding of GMP, CRF 21 part 11, and data integrity requirements and experience delivering within those requirements
  • Experience working as part of a manufacturing site
  • Experience with Agile Scrum, Critical Chain, and ITIL methodologies
  • Experience working globally across organizational levels and OUS cultures
  • Experience with SaaS applications

Other Information:

  • US & OUS travel could be required
  • M&Q operates on a 24/7 schedule requiring work off hours and on weekends as needed
  • Position may be located at Lilly Manufacturing Sites
