The Global Network Services (GNS) organization within Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) provides networking capabilities within Lilly’s enterprise data centers. You will partner with the Data Center (DC) Network Architect and Managed Service Provider (MSP) to design, build, and maintain solutions that align with Information Security (I.S.) standards. You will also engage in the technical aspects of solution delivery associated with changes as a result of lifecycle management of devices and customer projects.
Develop and implement cost effective and highly reliable enterprise network services while collaborating with I.S. and MSP(s) for alignment and implementation
Collaborate with partners to translate architectural plans into detailed design and build the required bill of materials
Work closely with the various teams from Infrastructure, Security and our business partners to ensure related risks are identified and remediated
Identify new service capabilities to fulfill unmet business needs
Review root cause analysis for high severity issues to drive service improvements
Participate in capacity management processes and provide input into implementation planning
Develop audits/controls/metrics to ensure consistency (utility and warranty) of solutions implemented
Partner with I.S. to develop, design and deploy security standards, policies, and procedures
Develop and maintain business relationships with infrastructure and business area IT colleagues
Engage with your customers by providing consulting assistance for solution delivery and troubleshooting
Collaborate with Manager and Global Network Service Architects to define and deliver a roadmap of network service-enhancing projects and future transformation efforts
Ensure the delivery of projects and new capabilities are on time and on budget
Act as liaison and single point of contact between Lilly and supplier(s) to specify and ensure clear project requirements
Hold MSP(s) and suppliers accountable for project task delivery
High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree
Demonstrated knowledge of experiences supporting data center networking technologies such as Cisco routers and switches; firewalls (Cisco or Palo Alto NGFW); load-balancers / Application Delivery Controllers (F5 and/or Citrix Netscaler).

Do you possess a high level of learning agility, have a keen ability to lead change, drive decisions, and influence others to achieve successful outcomes?
Having an understanding of facilities network cable plant processes (such as network cabling standards and media types), having a CCNA certification, experience with WAN/LAN technologies like telecom circuits will all be helpful.
Your enthusiasm and appreciation for network process automation, pulling on your experiences or knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and/or Perl and source code controls with GIT and/or SVN to achieve this automation, will all prove very useful to your success in this role.
Having knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools, IT Service Management (ITSM) and change control in general is a plus.
You will need to work with a multicultural, virtual and/or remote team and at times offer your support in major incident resolution efforts.
