Position description:

The future of Diabetes care is rapidly transforming. Advances in technology have enormous potential to dramatically reduce the burden of tracking the data associated with managing diabetes, improve decision-making, and significantly improve blood glucose results. To bring this potential to reality, we must develop tools that make sense from the perspective of our customers and fit into their lives so that we can simplify and improve diabetes management.

This strategic marketing role will provide the commercial inputs that help ensure the connected tools we develop make life better for people who have diabetes, and fit within our existing portfolio of pens as well as the emerging, technologically advanced delivery devices. We are looking for a leader with vision developing digital tools that people can and will use, and a passion for making these tools a reality. The role will be the commercial representative to a cross-functional development team that includes medical, hardware engineering, software engineering, regulatory, IT, and other functions.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Providing commercial inputs for development of HCP App and software strategy, in both connected and non-connected environment, to ensure that:
    • Digital assets drive strong customer uptake by being simple to use, easy to implement and delivering high value/utility
    • Payer requirements are integrated in development strategies for digital solutions to ensure access
    • Owns the interactions with affiliate commercial organizations that guides cross-functional development of our connected care solutions
    • Be primary interface to global marketing and affiliates to support strategy and launches
  • Be the expert on rapidly evolving external environment and competitor activity, and pressure-testing digital asset strategy on ongoing basis to ensure toolkit is and remains relevant and differentiating
  • Leading creation of and execution around vision to ensure that IIM platform across Lilly brands is simple and consistent
  • Providing inputs to the product roadmap lifecycle plan for our HCP/Payer connected care solutions to drive customer-focused interactions through design, development and launches to customers Point person for key development projects supporting Lilly business HCP/Payer Software

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in diabetes marketing
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the evolving HCP/EMR landscape, especially software as a medical device
  • Experience in design engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex marketing projects and programs
  • Experience translating complex, ambiguous concepts into actionable plans
  • Positive attitude and high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Passion for the customer and ability to translate the needs of the customer into technical terms, and vice versa
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives across business platforms
  • Effective communication and meeting facilitation skills for 1:1, small group and presentation settings
  • Strong networking, interpersonal and relationship skills
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest
  • Note: you do not need to know how to code/develop apps to be successful in this role…but you should be an active user of consumer apps and enjoy interactive design
