POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) is accountable for delivering integrated solutions for Japan IDS system and services aligned with global Enterprise Architecture and technical strategy.
  • This role should accelerate the technical transformation agenda in Japan IDS by catching up recent global Enterprise Architecture Strategy then bringing those into the practice through the Application Modernization program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Solution Delivery

  • Coordinate, deliver, and communicate technology roadmaps for ELJ’s enterprise information management systems partnering with Architect team
  • With deep understanding of recent Cloud Software (ex. AWS) services and DevSecOps development needs, evaluate business requirements and make solution architectural recommendations for implementation and deployments
  • As a technical expert, will be responsible to lead application architecture designs, peer review code, and champion continuous improvements to drive quality, speed & cost efficiency
  • Partner with Solution Delivery, Data & Analytics, InfoSec & Quality, and Infrastructure capability teams to architect and deliver current and future solutions
  • Ensure systems and applications are developed by vendors (onsite/offshore) adhering to global and Lilly Japan design, quality, and architecture standards
  • Active participation in the IDS operating model and forums to shape, influence and promote the right solution architecture decisions and adherence.

Technical Standardization in the Application Modernization Program

  • Support Project Architects and project leads in the creation of project artifacts, governance processes, best practices, and confluence materials
  • Create reusable coding structure and keep improving with SD Tech SME team to drive efficiency, consistent quality and security embedded

Upskilling

  • Educate the local and offshore Development Team about coding standard and approach, how to keep the quality to endure the application stability.
  • Develop necessary curriculum & materials with global and local teams to improve the tech SME posture in Japan IDS organization

Business title:Associate/Sr Associate/Manager-Solution Delivery & Support-IDS

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of proven experience for leading solution architect in IT at Lilly or outside
  • Experience of Cloud Software engineering
  • Experience with Agile Development
  • Demonstrated versatility in technical leadership, project management, and systems/software development and implementation
  • Global communication skill including business level English and Japanese beginner level
  • Position based in Kobe

ADDITIONAL PREFERENCE

  • Strong understanding of AWS well architected framework with relevant experience designing and implementing solutions in accordance to the framework.
  • Strong application development background with relevant experience in developing and deploying enterprise scale application in AWS.
  • Experience with deploying automation infrastructure by utilizing AWS Cloud Formation techniques.
  • Experience in DevSecOps
  • Strong teamwork, self-management, problem-solving abilities
  • Information Management/Architecture experience in solutions for Data Sharing and/or Analytics.
  • Experience in Integration (APIs/File Sharing), Security Gateways, Visualization, AI, other Automation, Data Quality, etc.
  • Cross functional / global solution delivery experience
  • Experience in Pharma industry or similar regulated industry.
  • Foundational business area knowledge (marketing, sales, pharma, medical affairs).
  • Foundational general management skill (logical / critical thinking, assertiveness, basic finance & accounting, facilitation, problem solving).
  • Passion for taking new challenges, exploring new technology, managing uncertainty, and delivering results.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND OTHER INFORMATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
