Position Brand Description:

The Elanco global Supply Chain Consultant - MRP – Stallion will be member of a team of subject matter experts developing the Elanco supply chain business process requirments, influencing the selection of IT tools used to manage supply chain processes going forward and defining and rolling out the new processes and systems to supply chain employees world wide. This role serves as the subject matter expert for the Elanco global supply chain business processes pertaining to Materials Requirments Planning (MRP). This also includes ownership of master data, security and metrics that are key to a successful MRP process.

The role requires working in cooperation with the global and local supply chain and IT resources to coordinate and communicate all global business process changes relating to Materials Requirements Planning.

Successful candidates will be able to apply to provide the vision and deep technical understanding needed to design and implement the Elanco MRP supply chain business process for the future. This individual will be able to influence across functions and geographies and at multiple levels within the organization.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Process Ownership
  • Provide MRP expertise to select, design, test implement and stabilize a new ERP system in 30 months.
  • Design, develop, document and ensure MRP supply chain tools adhere to supply chain business roles, organization structure and responsibilities.
  • Ensure global MRP processes are well understood and are being implemented effectively and efficiently across all Elanco sites, EEM organizations and affiliates.
  • Provide easily accessible documentation that covers global materials requirements planning process design.
  • Consult with MRP users where expertise is needed.
  • Ensure sufficient business process documentation and training exists for Elanco’s future MRP processes.
  • Define and implement a global approach for MRP training.
Communication / Networking
  • Establish a strong relationship with G&A IT in the area of materials requirements planning.
  • Establish a strong relationship with Lilly Global Supply Chain contacts around MRP.
  • Develop a community of support and effective user communication process for key supply chain personal at Elanco manufacturing, EEM, and affiliate organizations as well as network and regional supply chain leaders.
  • Network with other Business Process Owners to understand the overlap with other business processes.

  • BS or MS degree , preferably in Supply Chain or Engineering
  • 10 years experience in Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge – APICS certification preferred.
  • Understanding all Supply Chain business processes and tools
  • Experience using or supporting Supply Planning Processes
  • Understanding of current reporting structures and processes throughout the world
  • Recognized as a credible and dependable resource
  • Technical/Operational Knowledge – Deep knowledge of SAP MRP, and how to operate the global processes within it.
  • Leadership - Demonstrated leadership on cross-functional teams. Ability to drive improvements and manage change across a diverse organization working with people across geographies and at multiple levels within the organization to influence and direct improvements.
  • Systems Use/Knowledge – Strong computer-based skills. Capability to develop and utilize tools and reports for problem-solving, system optimization, and scenario analysis.
  • Breadth of experience – Broad understanding of all supply chain roles and users.
  • Orientation – Business savvy, customer focused, flexible and adaptable, able to deal with ambiguity. Strong self-management and organizational skills.
  • Communication – Presenting words, images and ideas in a clear, succinct, organized and interesting manner in order to effectively convey a meaningful and compelling message to an individual or group.
  • Organizational Influence – Using conversational forums to demonstrate and convince others of the possibility that their needs can be met through the idea, product or service you are offering.
  • Work shift: Full time, normal work shift
  • Travel required (% of time) – 20%
