Would you like a career where you get to be part of a corporate tax team that is developing a tax strategy for a new public company? We are seeking an individual who has a passion for tax planning and forecasting, and tax accounting.

The Tax Analyst, Tax Accounting & External Reporting, is responsible for forecasting and reporting the effective tax rate for the company. This position will report to the Senior Tax Director- Tax Accounting in presenting to and educating senior management on all risks and opportunities related to the effective tax rate. This role has significant responsibilities related to the process for external reporting of the effective tax rate, tax balance sheet, tax footnote, and uncertain tax positions. This position is also responsible for forecasting the company’s effective tax rate for use in strategic business planning processes. The position works closely with the Elanco Corporate Accounting & Reporting, Corporate Financial Planning, and Treasury organizations. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of income tax accounting in a multinational environment and tax experience with international, US federal, and state taxation. Applicants should also have demonstrable leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills, particularly given that this role has an integral role in relationship management with external auditors.

Key Objective/Deliverables:

  1. Forecast effective tax rate and timely communicate risks and opportunities to senior management. Improve forecasting processes.
  2. Prepare quarterly and annual income tax reporting information with accuracy and integrity. Partner with Elanco Corporate Accounting & Reporting group on income tax reporting processes.
  3. Partner with Tax Director in managing the relationship with external auditors
  4. Act as a liaison with Elanco Treasury on cash flow management related to taxes as it impacts current and strategic forecasts.
  5. Understand the business and related tax matters on a comprehensive basis and demonstrate the ability to factors these considerations into tax planning and forecasting

  • Bachelors Degree
  • CPA
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in tax accounting at a public accounting or a multinational corporation environment
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
  • SEC tax reporting experience
  • ASC 740 knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and self-management skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Minimal travel
  • Overtime will be required at peak times
