Responsibilities. The Global Nutritional Health Marketing Director contributes to setting the overall strategy & direction of Elanco’s marketing efforts for Nutritional Health in order to meet or exceed business expectations. This role supports the development of Nutritional Health marketing strategies for Nutritional Health brands, the shaping of global, regional, & affiliate brand planning for Nutritional Health, & the execution of overall positioning & launch of innovative Nutritional Health products. This role is providing support & expertise in the area of brand & marketing to Nutritional Health launch teams, R&D, regional & affiliate marketing teams, & the Global Nutritional Health team.
  • Business Ownership
    • Manages P&L for brands/services
    • Develops Business Plan, ensures delivery of revenue and profit annually
  • Strategy Development
    • Innovation & Lifecycle Management—Develops short-and long-term LCM strategy and execution plans to maximize brand performance
    • Shapes business plans & revenue potentials with regional innovation leaders & NPVA group based on product positioning & customer insights.
    • Manages launch strategy and geo-expansions
    • Technical or Scientific Understanding—Understands technical and scientific context and is able to translate complex information into simple brand messages.
  • Brand Development
    • Works with multiple parties to develop brand positioning and brand visualization
    • Determines messaging, proof points and evidence for key stakeholders (Business owners, Vets, animal owners etc.)
  • Insights and Analytics
    • Generates insights with Center of Excellence to inform strategies and business plans
    • Insights expertise—understands business questions that will drive what research to do and works with Insights COE to action research projects
    • Comfortable in reading, interpreting and analyzing research and other reports
  • Marketing Execution
    • Closely integrated with Regional & Global Nutritional Health teams, global marketing teams, global launch teams, global nutritional technical support & Nutritional Health R&D.
    • Executes internal & external communication programs to create excitement & energy around Elanco’s Nutritional Health offerings.
    • Brand Strategy Implementation—Leads production and validation of key campaigns and collaborates across Heads of Marketing (HOM) and/or General Managers (GM’s) to ensure implementation of Brand Strategy/ Plans
    • Ad agency Management- capable of day to day agency management and Marketing Mix (Media planning)
  • Managerial/ Cultural
    • Talent/Team Management- supervises junior team members and coaches/assists in training of newer marketers—leverages diversity
    • Takes a proactive role to remain current in latest poultry/swine/ruminant nutrition, production & management practices.
    • Global Mindset- Embraces international outlook and ability to understand different culture contexts and strong customer orientation.
  • Master’s degree in Animal Health Nutrition or related scientific discipline, Marketing/Business preferred
  • 5+ years technical marketing experience in animal health nutrition at a regional or global level.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience managing a team
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco Animal Health does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
  • Experience in poultry/swine nutrition/feed formulation or at least in feed additives.
  • Technical PhD or MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to learn & apply technical/scientific knowledge

  • Computer literate
  • English—written & verbal
  • Travel: 30-50% with majority being International travel (approx. 80%)
  • Not required to live in Greenfield, IN
