The Director, Financial Reporting will be a key contributor to the Elanco Accounting and Reporting team. The position is responsible for preparing accurate, timely and US GAAP compliant quarterly and annual reports for filing with the SEC, including SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K. The position is also responsible for contributing to and reviewing all quarterly earnings releases and any financial related communications, XBRL compliance, and audit committee and Board presentations. The position will have interaction with other members of the Elanco Accounting and Reporting team, shared services, treasury, tax, manufacturing finance, business development and international affiliates.
Serve as a key member of Elanco Accounting and Reporting team, responsible for coordinating successful SEC Form 10-K and 10-Q filings
Prepare portions of the earnings releases and affiliated presentations and scripts
Actively participate in the evaluation and interpretation of changes in US GAAP and the impacts to our Company
Perform accounting research and assist in drafting technical position papers
Review exposure drafts of accounting and reporting issues that impact our company and industry, and write responses to the FASB, PCAOB and SEC when deemed appropriate
Assist with responses to SEC comment letters
Document, monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls in the business development and financial reporting processes as part of our compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
Provide financial information and research to assist leadership with special projects
Assist with process improvement initiatives
Other project and accounting responsibilities
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 5 years experience in Finance function or public accounting practice, with in-depth knowledge of US GAAP accounting and SEC reporting

Solid technical accounting background with extensive knowledge of current US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence others
Recent experience with external reporting for public companies
Experience with large, multi-national corporations
Ability to perform well under pressure
Strong self-management skills and project management skills
Solid independent problem solving skills and ability to be innovative and creative
Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

This position is located at Elanco Global Headquarters, Greenfield, Indiana
Flexibility during peak closing periods is required. Overtime may be required on an as-needed basis. Minimal travel.
