This is an exciting opportunity to join Elanco from the ground floor and become a valued member of the Global Commercial IT team supporting the company’s global commercial business. The focus of this role will be to drive development of the semantic layer for global reporting and work with key stakeholders to maximize business effectiveness through reporting, helping to make Elanco the “Best Run Animal Health Company”.
The Commercial Enterprise Reporting Associate will:

Use technical skills and creativity to develop, support, and maintain the semantic layer which provides data to the business report developers
Create, support, and maintain the semantic layer which provides data to the business report operations report developers
Create and support global level reports and dashboards using Tableau including SFE, Global Marketing, and Compliance reports
Work closely with and provide direction to the support team (both on-shore and off-shore) in determining best approach to meet reporting data source needs for business partners
Manage and administer Tableau developer licenses
Provide consultation to business partners on local report development needs
Help business partners analyze and troubleshoot dashboard performance issues
Perform data analysis to determine how data will be pulled into the reporting data source
Work with Business Integrator and Data Architect to determine best approach for obtaining and storing data in the database so that it can be reported on
Work with key SFE (Sales Force Effectiveness) stakeholders to help drive efficiency and adoption of our CRM too
Attend and participate in SFE related meetings. Provide guidance and direction around the data availability and feasibility of using that data for reporting purposes.
Work with the Enterprise Analytics team on Tableau server and/or performance issues
Monitor materialized views and Tableau Extracts for performance
Assist in the de-entanglement of the Tableau environment
At least 1 year of SQL development experience
Proven experience with Tableau
Proven experience with Enterprise reporting solutions such as PowerBI, Qlik, Business Objects, etc.
Experience with Oracle database and PL/SQL
Excellent data analysis skills. Proven record as a problem solver
Business acumen: Ability to build and maintain business relationships at all levels of the organization. Ability to understand and build business process knowledge and communicate in business terms vs. IT.
Communication: Must be a strong communicator in a varied of areas / situations. Ability to communicate orally and written with business partners, leadership, peers, vendors.
Ability to provide creative solutions to complex reporting needs
Ability to create Tableau visualizations which are both user friendly and provide excellent insight into the data
Strong interpersonal skills/team player with a positive professional approach.
Experience with SFDC and/or Veeva
Experience with Sales and Marketing functions
A mindset which is both logical and creative
A creative flair for design and visualizing data
Independent worker; come with proposals instead of questions
This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years. As Elanco is constantly looking for talent, there is a possibility that this role becomes a permanent position
