Job Description Summary. A trained Elanco operator will be responsible for manufacturing, media preparation, cell passage, final preparation of culture media and packaging viral antigen or inactivation and other intermediates. Shall be mechanically inclined and capable of complete set-up, operation, troubleshooting and dismantling for cleaning, all filling, labeling, and packaging and non-technical production equipment in a safe and efficient manner and with minimum supervision. Must be able to proceed independently in antigen manufacturing in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and Manufacturing Directions, using proper laboratory techniques, and adhere to the policies by the company.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Must be able to read, understand, and follow written procedures and documentation.
Select, verify, and document information contained on labels, documents and computer based systems.
Perform calculations and conversions involving weights, volumes, and percentages.
Assemble, wrap, sterilize, deliver and maintain inventory and equipment.
Proper operation of automated and semi-automated equipment used in relation production or packaging process.
Perform aseptic operations for production processes performed within area.
Perform inspection and assessment of equipment and material condition prior to use.
Demonstrate mechanical knowhow to carry out troubleshooting and minor maintenance such as valves, gaskets and o-rings.
Document operations with strict adherence to cGMP documentation practices.
Perform General Housekeeping.
Follow Elanco’s Standard Operating Procedures for the handling of hazardous wastes.
Conduct one-on-one training with new employees under Supervisor direction.
Routine and consistent attendance is necessary and important to the safety and operational policies.
Prepare media and inoculate and harvest roller bottles, and cell cubes for cell production
Perform tasks such as prepare, charge, inoculate, re-feed and harvest fermenters and bioreactors to produce bacterial cultures antigen and viral antigen.
If assigned to warehouse area must obtain BDL with air brake and HAZMAT endorsement. , Helps to prepare outgoing shipments and unloading/sorting of incoming shipments. Must be competent and reliable driver of motor vehicles, including warehouse fork lifts, Pallet Transfer Machine and man-up lifts
High School Diploma | GED
Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing, if applicable.
