Our team of change practitioners recognize the critical role they play in this regard, working across the organization to facilitate large-scaled organizational changes, two-way conversations, and collaboration with others to ensure we bring our colleagues with us as we navigate through change.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Working as part of a multi-faceted team, our change practitioners deliver outputs that drive the desired outcomes. Within that team, a new OCM Associate Consultant role will focus on transformational projects and drive the successful adoption and usage of change within the business, allowing our employees to understand and commit to the organizational shift, and work effectively during it.
This role will lead the OCM planning and implementation for various integration projects across the enterprise. This role will work with subject matter experts, affiliates, and external consultants to define, identify, and prepare the organization for the necessary change management related to various global integration projects.
NATURE OF THE WORK:
Objective 1: OCM Planning
- Maintains an awareness of change initiatives, and transformational efforts to anticipate organizational change management needs, and proactively engages with project leaders/managers to ensure OCM needs are included in the overall planning consistent with the implementation strategy.
- Provides input to help define the desired result of a given business initiative, its vision and mission.
- Assesses the overall project complexity, associated OCM challenges and potential risks, identifies gaps and failure modes, and recommends mitigations.
- Reviews alignment of the organization’s strategy to the overall project strategy.
- Identifies gaps, problems, and issues with the business initiative to outline what needs to be achieved and the levers to achieve them. The stakeholders, areas of influence, reporting lines, project sponsors, change agents, and targets should be identified through appropriate OCM tools, methodology and customer requirement/insights.
- Design and execute specific methodologies to surface risks, questions, concerns and barriers to successful implementation, including escalation process, and develop communication and mitigation strategies to address these risks.
Objective 2: OCM Implementation
- Through a set of planned OCM actions, the OCM SME increases the probability of successful implementation for the assigned business change initiatives.
- Monitors effectiveness of completed and ongoing actions and responds appropriately.
- Participates in the delivery of awareness, information, preparation for implementation, and implementation for assigned business change initiatives in conjunction with business subject matter experts.
- Maintains and routinely leverages an extensive personal network within the organization (spans, levels, regions, and roles).
- Reviews objective effectiveness data from key projects with the respective business SMEs to verify that goals were met; according to findings, analyzes failure modes and develops remediation strategies or identifies best practices for future application.
- Aggregates and responds to effectiveness data (both anecdotal and objective), making near-term strategic course corrections when appropriate; incorporates learning as projects are transferred to long-term process owners within business functions.
Objective 3: Coordinate with Communications and Training Infrastructure
- Maintains relationships with communications and training professionals in the implementation team and throughout the enterprise to anticipate communication and training needs to incorporate awareness and alignment of forthcoming messages.
- Ensures appropriate synchronization of messages with broader project efforts of Corporate Communications for OCM projects.
- Partners with business SMEs to define the scope of changes resulting from the organizational change. Consults in designing the training program and delivery model.
- Utilizes the appropriate communication technologies and channels to drive effective OCM.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of professional experience
Additional Skills and Preferences:
- Significant experience with OCM methodologies, tools, and techniques, including conducting assessments aimed at identifying change readiness, change impact, needs, and risks, as well as stakeholder engagement and management techniques
- Effective communication skills in listening, written, and interpersonal areas
- Maintains confidentiality – will be working with sensitive data and issues
- Experience with business and IT change management (results-oriented change agent)
- Ability to be productive in a flexible and constantly changing environment
- Leadership skills – need to take responsibility & accountability for results
- Teamwork/interpersonal skills – clients will usually demonstrate significant resistance to this project
- Experience with Lilly Finance, Supply Chain Management and Procurement processes
Other Considerations:
- Safety permitting, global travel is possible (10-20%)
- This is a global position that can be based at any Lilly site, affiliate, or GBS location
