Each student is assigned to an area where they will put their acquired knowledge into practice by working on a variety of projects and daily tasks on a full-time basis for a period of approximately 20 weeks. These projects and tasks will be focused on improving and innovating certain processes. For Engineering majors, these areas may include, but are not limited to:

·Process, Control and Automation

·Maintenance

·Operational Excellence

·Technical Services and Manufacturing Science

·Utilities

·Information Technology

·Quality Assurance or Quality Control

·Material Management

·Environmental Health and Safety

·Learning and Development

Education:
Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree within the following Engineering majors at an accredited college or institution:

· Chemical Engineering

· Mechanical Engineering

· Industrial Engineering

· Electrical Engineering

· Computer Engineering

Although a GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, a GPA of 2.50 is considered the minimum requirement.

Availability:
Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week (full-time) for a minimum of 20 weeks. Based on individual performance and the needs of the organization, the COOP period for each student can last from 5 months to a maximum of 1 year.

It is required that all COOP students be enrolled in a COOP or internship course at their respective college or institution and provide evidence of its insurance coverage.
