Position Description:
Medicines Development Information and Digital Solutions (MD IDS) serves as a strategic function within Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) partnering with the Medicines Development Unit (MDU). The MDU focuses on taking potential marketable products from Research through product registration and approval.
MD IDS focuses on the MDU business needs of the future, enabling improvements through information and technology solutions. The teams define and influence information and business strategies, design and develop solutions to achieve the strategic outcomes, and ensure reliable deployment and support of these solutions.
The role of the electronic clinical outcome assessment (eCOA) Tech leader, acts as the primary, technical leader for a portfolio of applications and/or services involving eCOA, leads a variety of resources (NOT a people management role) to tactically maintain their applications within service levels, and is well versed in the business processes, technologies, and vendor/user relationships tied to the applications and services. They engage with business partners, vendors, external service providers, and IT partners to enhance and maintain the value and stability of the MD IDS application portfolio.
This position will report to the Clinical Results Platform Manager/Team Leader.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Leads internal partners and external suppliers in ensuring that clinical services deliver maximum business value, remain technically relevant, complaint, sustainable and cost effective.
Develops in-depth business knowledge and strong relationships with business partners
Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to enhance the existing technology through an understanding of clinical development. Experience working with organisations that provide software-as-a-service (SaaS) is important.
A high learning agility to understand the current state and provide technical expertise to advance the design and project deliverables, interface and consult between the platform team, the development team and vendors for best practice communication, planning, documentation and deliverables of technical solutions.
Applied knowledge of IT Service Management and implementation experience, encompasses all the processes, procedures.
Produces and maintains project documentation as required, including that of Computer Systems Quality
Provides and ensures effective impact analysis of platform changes, with consistency and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures for architecture, data, integrations and processes
Uses standardised processes for requirements definition, analysis, design, construct, and test activities
Modifies existing systems or integrates packaged systems with existing infrastructure to meet business requirements
Ensures Lilly information assets are protected from malicious content and access to information is restricted to authorised personnel only
Basic Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience
Demonstrated learning agility both technically as well as business processes and applications
Demonstrated initiative to build relationships, learn new business processes and identify opportunities
Demonstrated ability to influence peers and business partners
Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and either resolve or escalate to the appropriate level for resolution

Additional Preferred Requirements:
Has two plus years of experience working with organisations that provide software-as-a-service (SaaS).
Experience with mobile development
Clinical research experience/knowledge
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) in computer science, information technology, or management information systems.
Other Information:
