LCCI Team Lead, Clinical Operations Analytics

Clinical Research Systems, Processes, and Information delivers innovative and reliable systems, processes, and information to enable clinical development and speed medicines to patients. The Clinical Operations Analytics Team Lead (TL) is responsible for managing the performance and development of the team at LCCI who assist in generating insight that facilitates the management of clinical trials. Working closely across geographies with colleagues in LRL, CDDA, IDS, and other components of the R&D organization, the TL will ensure that the team designs, implements, improves, and/or delivers operational dashboards following appropriate rigor and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management/Delivery
- Responsible and accountable for the management and delivery of the overall book of work for assigned staff.
- Develop and execute sourcing plans in partnership with global team to ensure seamless delivery.
- Adjust work plan based on shifting priorities using effective change control.
- Lead and direct internal team members in achieving team goals.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting delivery of work.
- Conceive of and implement new and efficient ways to accomplish goals.
- Regularly report results of team activities to leadership and stakeholders.
- People Management and Development
- Recruit, develop, and retain a strategic and operationally capable workforce skilled and knowledgeable in clinical operations analytics (developing and delivering analytic insights, expertise with data analysis / visualization applications, languages, and analytics solutions).
- Effectively create and manage an agile organization that continuously meets the needs of a changing portfolio, and that demonstrates judgment-based decision making, business acumen, and change management proficiency.
- Appropriately manage the workload of direct reports; monitor project timelines and quality of work products; and communicate priorities to direct reports.
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to personnel, including technical expertise as needed.
- Provide input on employee development, talent assessment, and succession planning activities.
- Build an organizational culture aligned with Team Lilly – inclusion, innovation, acceleration, delivery, integrity, excellence, and respect for people.
- Ensure all direct reports are compliant with company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Systems /Dashboard /Analytics Development
- Build/refine systems used in operational reporting and analytics as described in the job description for Associate, Clinical Operations Analytics. The percentage contribution of these responsibilities will vary according to the needs of the business.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical science, computer science, engineering, statistics, or related field
- 3 years applied experience in developing and delivering analytic insights (data wrangling, data modeling, data mining, metrics, reporting, and visualizations) in a pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, or biotech setting.
- 2 years experience in leading/managing a strategic portfolio or business process.
- Experience leading others, including relationship and team building, setting expectations, holding others accountable, and technical coaching.
- Expertise with data analysis / visualization applications, languages, and analytics solutions, for example, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Python, R, Shiny, AWS, Trifacta, etc
- Demonstrated ability to deliver clear and concise data interpretation and communications
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Advanced degree in relevant field
- Expertise in regulatory and quality requirements governing clinical development
- Experience with systems used in clinical trials like Planisware, Impact, Oracle, Veeva suite, etc
- Strong leadership, project management skills, process improvement experience, business acumen and learning agility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing business plans, budgeting, and capacity resourcing.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills
- Exceptional customer focus
- Experience working with a globally diverse team.
